2nd-gen Volvo XC60 spotted testing in India

The second-generation Volvo XC60 is likely to be launched in India in December 2017. Recent spy images indicate that SUV is being tested on Indian roads ahead of its official launch.

The new Volvo XC60 shares its underpinnings with the XC90, V90 and S90. According to a media report, the SUV will be offered only in ‘Inscription’ trim, which is the highest-spec and comes loaded with features like a Bowers & Wilkins audio system, head-up display and leather upholstery, in addition to a host of safety aides. The XC60 will be offered with 19-inch alloy wheels and air-suspension as well.

The India-spec XC60 is likely to be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, twin-turbocharged D5 diesel engine. This engine produces 232 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 480 Nm of peak torque @ 1,750-2,250 rpm and comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, while all-wheel drive will be standard.

The new Volvo XC60 will rival the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3 and Audi Q5 in the Indian market.
