3 months & 6000 km up on my Jimny: Took it offroad for the first time

The car is very capable and it comes to life when there is no road or dirt road.

My first offroading with the Jimny:

Hi all,

My Jimny is now 3 months and 6k old so it was time for me to take it to the wild. I chose Vindhyavasini temple trail near Rajaji national park Haridwar. It was a scenic route with so many small rivulets. Here are my key observations of the stint and of my overall experience with the Jimny:

  • The car is very capable and it comes to life when there is no road or dirt road. Super smooth and minimal body roll. I engaged 4H only when crossing the rivers otherwise it was in D mode and the whole experience was very satisfying.
  • It is perfect for my day to day city travel and biggest plus is it's small size. I travel alone and there is plenty of space for 4 inside but due to small dimensions it is very easy to navigate through city traffic.
  • On highways one needs getting used to its slow pickup rate. It really takes a long time for getting from 80 to 100 but once between 100 to 110 you hit the sweet spot again. All it needs is getting used to and to understand that it is not a vehicle for highway heroics.
  • My aftermarket accessories include tail lamp guard, ladder and roof bars. I ordered from Herman and overall experience is OK.
