Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the fourth generation Dzire on November 11. However, the outgoing model will continue to be sold as the Tour S.
According to Partho Banerjee, Head of Sales and Marketing at Maruti Suzuki, the new Dzire will not completely replace the current model. He said that the current-gen Dzire will carry on as the Tour version only.
The Maruti Dzire Tour S is aimed at fleet operators and the taxi market. The new Tour S, based on the fourth-generation model, will be launched a few years later.
Although the new Dzire comes loaded with a tonne of features, the Tour S will be a stripped-down version of the car sold to private buyers. That being said, it will be powered by the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine, producing 81 BHP and 112 Nm. In CNG mode, this unit puts out 68 BHP and 102 Nm.
In the meantime, the third-gen Dzire Tour S will continue to rival the Tata Tigor and Hyundai Aura.
