4th-gen Skoda Octavia to be launched in June 2021

The launch was postponed due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The launch of the 4th-gen Skoda Octavia, which was scheduled to happen by the end of April 2021, was postponed due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Now, Zac Hollis - Director, Sales and Marketing, Skoda India, has tweeted that the sedan will be launched in June 2021.

The new Octavia is based on the MQB EVO platform and has a slightly longer wheelbase compared to the outgoing model. It comes equipped with LED headlamps and tail lamps and Rotare Aero alloy wheels. In the international market, it features a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The car is offered with a 2-spoke multi-function steering wheel, while a 3-spoke wheel is available as an option.

The Octavia is likely to come with a choice of two turbocharged petrol engines. These include a 1.5-litre TSI unit paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 2.0-litre TSI unit which could be offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
