500 units of the Mahindra Thar delivered over the weekend

Having commenced deliveries of the Mahindra Thar earlier this month, the carmaker handed over 500 Thars to customers from November 7-8, 2020.

Mahindra kicked off deliveries of the new Thar by handing over the first car (Thar #1) to Mr. Akash Minda, who had placed the winning bid of Rs. 1.11 crore at auction. Images of the cars being delivered from across the country have emerged online.

Over 20,000 Thars have already been booked and the waiting period has gone past the 6 month mark. The Hard Top Automatic and Manual variants of both petrol and diesel versions appear to be in high demand.

The Thar is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder mStallion petrol that produces 150 BHP and 320 Nm and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel that makes 130 BHP and 320 Nm. Power is sent to all the four wheels via a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
