Volkswagen has unveiled the Polo Edition 50 to mark the iconic hatchback’s 50th anniversary.
The Polo Edition 50 is based on the ‘Style’ trim level and gets additional features. On the exterior, it gets 16-inch ‘Coventry’ alloy wheels (optional 17-inch ‘Torosa’), dark-tinted rear windows and a 3D badge on the B-pillar with the lettering ‘50’.
On the interior, the car gets ‘Edition 50’ lettering on the front sill panel mouldings and a ‘50’ on the lower steering wheel trim as well as on the high-gloss black dashboard on the front passenger side.
Other standout features include chrome pedals, black headliner, ambient lighting, chrome package (with electric mirrors, switches and vents), heated sports seats (front), multifunction leather steering wheel, rear view camera, Park & Comfort assist system package, including proactive occupant protection system (in conjunction with Front Assist), Side Assist lane change system and Park Assist with Park Distance Control and Rear Traffic Alert, Discover Media infotainment system that includes Streaming & Internet and driving profile selection.
There is also an optional Plus package that offers a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and go.
Prices for the Polo Edition 50 start at 28,200 euros (Rs. 27.87 lakh) in Germany.
The Volkswagen Polo was on sale in India for 12 years between 2010 and 2022. The carmaker, however, has no plans to launch the new Polo in our market.
