5th-gen Honda City caught testing

The first spy images of the fifth generation Honda City have surfaced online. The car was spotted in Thailand.

The spy images suggest that the new City is likely to get large wraparound headlamps and a grille with a thick chrome bar similar to current generation Civic. At the rear, the car appears to have slim wraparound tail lights. The test car has pull-type door handles and large ORVMs that are mounted on the door panel instead of the A-pillars. It is riding on black multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Rumours suggest that the next generation City is likely to go into production in February 2020 and could be launched a month later. It is likely to be offered with a BS-VI compliant 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

It is believed that Honda might offer a 1.0-litre, turbocharged, 3-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual or CVT and a 1.5-litre, petrol-hybrid with two electric motors in the international market.
