7 concerns with my Hyundai Alcazar diesel after clocking 6,500 km

The SUV is a fantastic upgrade from my Honda BR-V, but the only downer is the 3rd-row space.

BHPian Vikashmalya recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

I have clocked 6.5k km on my Alcazar Diesel. The feedback is pretty much in-line with what has been summarized in this thread. However, there are a few additional aspects that I am facing with my car:

  1. The centre console vibrations and creaking sound are not consistent. It sometimes creaks even without having to touch it. Sometimes even when pushed hard with the left leg, it does not creak. It has a mood of its own and I am really not sure what makes it creak and how it manages not to sometimes. - I was planning to dampen the centre console to rectify the issue, yet to identify who can do this perfectly.
  2. There is considerable vibration/noise if we place smaller bottles/umbrellas/dustbins (anything that is hard for that matter) in the door pockets. Initially, I did not understand why there was so much rattle and noise but later identified it coming from the door pockets. This especially happens if we place things that don't sit flush in the door pockets.. the rattling noise is a bit disturbing may be because of the otherwise silent cabin. I have never faced such issues in my previous cars.
  3. RPM in the car sometimes gets high even when not revving. This could be because of the DPF regen process. While this is happening fuel efficiency is also impacted. This is really a one-off and happens maybe 1 or 2 times a month. After a short ride or two, this automatically gets back to normal. I am unable to ascertain the pattern yet. I initially thought if I do at least a 100 / 200 kms journey at over 2000 rpm / 80kmph once a month, the DPF regen would not occur. But then I have had instances where the issue had occurred right after a non-stop 500 km journey.
  4. The passenger side seat belt warning did not work a couple of times. Though the seat was occupied by an adult, the passenger side seat belt warning did not work. However, when the passenger got out and sat back again, it started to function normally.
  5. The perfume provided in the air purifier does not even work. I even tried opening all the vents but no smell at all. Is there a specific setting for turning on the perfume? Also, is anyone aware of whether we can refill or replace the perfume?
  6. Having upgraded to Android Auto Coolwalk, it doesn't let me finish the voice commands. It used to work well before the upgrade. It cuts off in the middle irrespective of the size of the command. For e.g. some time you ask "Play my reprise youtube playlist".. most of the time it cuts off in the middle. I have tried both holding the voice command button till the end of the command and also giving voice command after pressing the button once. The issue seems to be persistent.
  7. I have seen a few videos, especially of Kia / Hyundai where people have enabled wireless Android Auto / Apple Carplay through the Engineering Mode. Has anyone tried this? I did manage to access the engineering mode one time, however, I couldn't find the appropriate setting. I am unable to access the engineering mode ever since. If this doesn't work, I am planning to buy Carlinkit for the wireless AA / CP.

Having discussed these pointers, these are not show-stoppers and are not of huge concern to me. This really has been a fantastic upgrade for me from my earlier Honda BRV in terms of Ride quality, Cabin noise insulation, Quality of interiors, Features, engine performance, middle-row comfort and space etc. The only thing that seems better in BRV is the third-row space. I really wonder how BRV managed to squeeze a little more legroom for the 3rd row.
