7-seater Maruti WagonR caught testing

View Forum Discussion

The 7-seater Maruti WagonR has been spied testing on the outskirts of Delhi.

The 3-row version will be based on the same platform as the WagonR hatchback. Except for the stretched rear section, the car looks similar to the 5-seater hatchback. It has an upright rear fascia with tail lamps positioned vertically. The test car has a rear wiper, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and black alloy wheels similar to those offered on the Ignis.

The 7-seater WagonR MPV could be powered by the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that does duty in the WagonR hatchback. This engine produces 82 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 4,200 rpm. It could be paired with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.

In India, the 7-seater WagonR will compete with the Datsun Go+ and Renault Triber.
