7-Seater Tata H7X spotted testing

The 7-seater Tata Harrier (codenamed: H7X) has been caught testing in India. The SUV is expected to be unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and could be launched in India by the end of this year.

The H7X will share its Land Rover-derived underpinnings with the Harrier. The spy images suggest that the H7X could feature styling similar to the Harrier. It has a similar front end with split headlamps and slim tail lamp clusters. The camouflaged test mule has an integrated rear spoiler with a high mounted stop lamp, roof rails and side steps. It also appears to be slightly longer than the Harrier in order to accommodate a third row of seats. The SUV can be seen sporting 18-inch alloy wheels from the Land Rover Discovery Sport.

Reports suggest that the H7X could be offered with a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine with 170 BHP of peak output. It is the same engine that powers the Jeep Compass. It is likely to be offered with a 6-speed manual and a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed automatic transmission.
