8 years & 60,000 km with my Jazz CVT: The experience so far

Most of the time I spend driving, is in office commute and am a little fortunate, that there is just one traffic light in the entire trip, to and fro.

BHPian pappyrohit recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

I currently drive a Honda Jazz(2017 V CVT). It was our old family car, which I took over after my parents purchased a Suzuki Grand Vitara. This is my second post about it's ownership, after I became the primary owner.

Brief context: I took ownership of the Jazz in September 2023. It was registered in Bengaluru and I drove it to Hyderabad, where I am posted for work. Here's the link to my first ownership post

My car turned 8 on January 27th, 2025. In the past one year, I have driven a little over 10k kms (10763kms to be precise). Here's my experience with it.

Mileage and driveability: It's a fuss free car to drive. With practice, I have trained myself to drive sedately, considering the nature of CVT transmission. I drive with a light foot, patiently wait for the speed to build up, and rarely drive enthusiastically. I manage to get 13-14kmpl in medium traffic in Hyderabad.

Most of the time I spend driving, is in office commute and am a little fortunate, that there is just one traffic light in the entire trip, to and fro (Thanks to HYD traffic police, all the right turns in my route have been blocked and I need to take longer U turns). In peak traffic, the mileage drops to 5-6kmpl with AC on full blast. On the handling front, it's pretty good, nothing extraordinary. Quite comfortable in city roads, doesn't wabble a lot at highway speeds. Overall, happy with it for my current lifestyle. No complaints
