80,000 km with my Altroz diesel: Why its the favourite car in my garage

In many ways than one, the Altroz diesel is a perfect spiritual successor of my gen 1 Swift diesel.

BHPian PrasannaDhana recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

80,000 km with the Altroz Diesel

The Altroz reached the 80,000 km milestone sometime last week. The car is exactly 3.5 years old. Current odo stands at 81,000 km

80k milestone

Last year and this year, the usage has been only 15,000 km annually. Thanks to my other cars which share the load.

I currently drive 5 different cars, Altroz diesel, Punch, Safari Storme, Dzire and Harrier AT. Of all of them, the Altroz is the most favourite car for me to drive.

Totally love the ride, handling, the torquey fast 1.5 diesel engine, best AC (yes, among all my cars) and that beautifully tuned Harman Kardon ICE.

The continental UC6 tires are 32000 km old and it looks like they will easily last another 15,000 km.

Such astounding Fuel efficiency figures can be seen pretty often when I am not flooring the accelerator to the metal

I am beginning to realise that my Altroz diesel will be as difficult to replace like my Swift diesel. In many ways than one, the Altroz diesel is a perfect spiritual successor of my gen 1 Swift diesel, while being safer and faster.

Two pics with two red, primary diesel Hatchbacks of mine, 14 years apart

Next oil change will be at 83,000 km (last was at 73,000 km). Since the car is out of warranty period, I am shortening the OE recommended 15k km oil change service interval to 10k km. The OE oil is 0W20 which in itself is a very light oil.

No issues whatsoever to report. The car performs flawlessly, and I take unadulterated pleasure in maxing out the 1.5 diesel atleast twice a week on highways.

Some pics

The other two Tatas are also beautifully serving, the punch at 12,000 km and the Storme at 93,000 km

New kid on the block, the Dzire is at 4000 km

Next update in this thread will be after 83,000 km service (90k km scheduled service)

Cheers!
