8th-gen Audi A6 spotted in India

The eighth-generation Audi A6 has been spotted in India for the first time. According to a media report, ARAI has started testing the standard wheelbase version for emissions and fuel economy.

The eighth-generation A6 was unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The car is longer, wider and taller than its predecessor. It features a slightly wider front grille flanked by redesigned headlamps and a new front bumper. At the rear, the car gets new wraparound LED tail lights and a redesigned bumper with integrated dual exhausts. 

On the inside, the A6 features a new dashboard with the centre console comprising of two touchscreens. It has a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and Audi's Virtual Cockpit.

In the international market, the new A6 is offered with a 3.0-litre, V6 petrol engine producing 335 BHP and 500 Nm of torque as well as a 3.0-litre, V6 diesel unit that puts out 282 BHP and 620 Nm of torque. Both engines get a 48V mild-hybrid system. Transmission options include an 8-speed automatic and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The car is equipped with a Quattro all-wheel drive system and also gets rear axle steering and adaptive air suspension.

In India, the A6 is likely to get 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.
