9 years & 82,000 km with Polo GT; Will hang around a bit longer!

My wife has decided to stick with this car and is not keen on upgrading yet.

BHPian psispace recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

9 years, 82000km update:

Relatively uneventful year thankfully

Suspension struts required replacement along with the gear actuator cable. The actuator cable was causing subtle issues in gear engagement which was noticed only by my wife as she is the regular driver. Cost with miscellaneous labour - 23,000/-

Routine service done subsequently - 9,600/-

Insurance for this year - 9,100/- (premiums have gone up!)

In the continuing saga of ABS sensor failures - front right sensor replacement - 5,200/-

Tyres all round required changing - Decided on the more comfort oriented Michelin XM2+, same profile as before 165/65/R15

My wife has decided to stick on with this car and is not keen on upgrading yet. Especially so as I am hanging on to my 13 year old car. So the GT will be around for a bit longer.

I am in a similar situation. Have a 2015 Polo GT TSI that is short of 60K on the odometer. Just gave it some love with EBC rotors and a B6. Quite often, I use the Polo more than the 3 Series even on highway runs and that is saying something. The only hatchback in India that is truly an upgrade would be the Mini, which one could argue would be in 3 Series Category.... All this makes the Polo even more special. Hold on to this one buddy. It reminds me of my Yamaha RX-100. This is on its way to become a classic with enthusiasts pretty soon.
