9th-gen Toyota Camry to go on sale in India by early 2025

The new Camry is likely to be showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January.

According to a media report, Toyota plans to launch the ninth-generation Camry in India in early 2025. The new model is likely to be showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January.

The new-gen Camry was unveiled in November last year. Last month, the car was spotted testing on Indian roads for the first time.

The 9th-gen Camry is based on Toyota’s TNGA-K platform. It borrows design cues from the Toyota Crown. It has a large trapezoidal grille with U-shaped LED headlamps.

Inside, the Camry gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, while higher variants get 12.3-inch displays and a 10-inch head-up display. Other features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 - essentially an ADAS suite.

The new Camry is powered by a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol hybrid paired with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT). The front-wheel-drive version gets two electric motors with a combined output of 222 BHP. The all-wheel drive version gets an additional motor-generator on the rear axle and packs 229 BHP.
