Adani Group planning to set up EV business

The Adani Group plans to invest US$ 70 billion in the green energy sector.

The Adani Group, led by Gautam Adani, is planning to enter the electric vehicle (EV) space. The company has filed a trademark for the 'Adani' name, proposed to be used for vehicles.

According to media reports, Adani is likely to focus on the electric commercial vehicle segment. Electric trucks and buses built by the company will be initially put into service at airports and ports owned by the Adani Group.

Additionally, the Adani Group plans to set up a battery manufacturing unit in India. It will also be setting up charging stations across the country.

Adani is making inroads into the green energy space, close on the heels of Reliance. The company plans to invest US$ 70 billion in this sector.
