Anand Mahindra's salute to the father of the Thar

Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, has tweeted a salute to the late Behram Dhabhar, the man behind the Mahindra Thar and a respected BHPian.

This tweet has come with just over a month to go for the launch of the second-generation Thar. Anand describes Behram as the most enthusiastic “car guy” at Mahindra and whose passion brought the Thar to life.

Along with his message, Anand has retweeted a tweet by Cyrus Dhabhar, son of Behram, who in Jun 2018 had shared some images of his father with one of the first three prototypes of the first-generation Thar. In one of the pictures, the team behind the Thar is seen atop the vehicle.

In a follow-up tweet, Anand has said that we need more people like Behram and that he continues to inspire people.

Behram Dhabhar, who sadly passed away in August 2016, had worked with automobile majors such as Premier, Mahindra and Tata. He had also been a part of the rallying circuit in India. He was popularly known as "Mr. Thar" or "the father of the Thar".
