Anish Shah replaces Pawan Goenka as MD & CEO of Mahindra

Dr. Pawan Goenka is set to retire on April 2, 2021, after more than 27 years with the Mahindra Group.

Dr. Anish Shah has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, effective April 2, 2021.

Dr. Shah will take over from Dr. Pawan Goenka, who is set to retire from the post on April 2. He will become the first professional MD and CEO in the history of the Mahindra Group to have a complete oversight of and responsibility for the Mahindra Group businesses. At present, Dr. Shah holds the post of Managing Director and Group Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director, will take full charge of the Automobile and Farm Equipment sectors. He will report to Dr. Shah.

Dr. Shah joined Mahindra in 2015 as the Group President - Strategy. Prior to joining Mahindra, he was President and CEO of GE Capital India. He has also led Bank of America's US Debit Products business. He started his career with Citibank in Mumbai before moving to Boston with Bain & Company as a strategy consultant.

Dr. Shah holds a Ph.D from Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business, a Masters degree from Carnegie Mellon and a post-graduate diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
