Aprilia RS440 spied testing in India

The Aprilia RS440 is expected to rival the KTM RC390 and Apache RR 310 in the Indian market.

Aprilia seems to be planning to launch a new entry-level sports bike in India to compete with the likes of the KTM RC390 and Apache RR 310. The new model, believed to be the Aprilia RS440, has recently been spotted testing near the brand’s Baramati plant.

The spy images feature a camouflaged test mule of a fully-faired sports bike. It has twin sweptback headlamps similar to the RSV4, fairing-mounted rear-view mirrors and a stepped seat.

Other notable details include an upside-down fork suspension at the front with a monoshock at the back, disc brakes and both ends and alloy wheels, which is fairly standard for this segment.

Reports suggest that the RS440 could be powered by a 450cc parallel-twin engine dishing out around 48 BHP. The engine is likely to be paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
