Aprilia SR 125 spotted in India, launch soon

Aprilia launched the SR 150 in India last year. It became the first Aprilia branded two-wheeler to be locally manufactured in India. With the Indian gearless scooter market expanding with every passing year, the Italian two-wheeler manufacturer is now planning to launch a smaller 125 cc sibling in the SR range of scooters. The Aprilia SR 125 has recently been spotted in Pune with ARAI stickers. Reports indicating that the scooter is currently undergoing the homologation process. As a result, an official launch is expected to be scheduled in the near future.

The overall styling of the SR 125 is expected to remain similar to that of the SR 150. The model submitted for homologation even wears the SR 150 vinyl badge on the side fender. However, there is a sticker with the SR 125 label that has been placed on the scooter.

Powering the Aprilia SR 125 will be a 125 cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that will likely develop 9 BHP and 8.2 Nm of torque. This power unit will be based on the engine found in the Vespa SXL 125 and VXL 125.
