Ashok Leyland launches BS6-compliant modular platform

Ashok Leyland has launched a new BS6-compliant modular platform for medium and heavy-duty trucks called AVTR.

The AVTR platform supports multiple axle configurations, loading spans, cabins, suspensions and drivetrains. It supports rigid trucks, tippers and tractors in the 18.5 to 55 tonnes category. The same platform can be used for left-hand drive and right-hand drive vehicles.

According to Ashok Leyland, the AVTR platform has been developed at an investment of Rs. 500 crore. It has been tested in different terrains for more than 60 lakh km.
