Audi e-tron & e-tron Sportback EV bookings open in India

Bookings for the Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback electric SUVs are now open in India. Bookings can be placed at Audi dealerships or online by paying a token amount of Rs. 5 lakh.

The e-tron is a 4-door electric SUV that is based on the MEB platform. The Sportback is just a different body style with a sloping roofline. Both cars come equipped with features such as progressive steering, adaptive air suspension, 4-zone automatic climate control and Matrix LED headlamps as standard.

Powering the e-tron are two electric motors - one on each axle. The combined power output is 355 BHP and 561 Nm. In S mode, the power output is boosted to 402 BHP and 664 Nm for 8 seconds. Audi claims that the car will do 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.

The car is powered by a 95 kWh battery pack that is claimed to offer a maximum range of 359-484 km (WLTP cycle) on a single charge. It can be recharged in 8.5 hours using an 11 kW AC home charger and is capable of up to 150 kW DC charging.

The Audi e-tron will be imported via the CBU route. It will compete with the Mercedes-Benz EQC and the Jaguar I-Pace in the Indian market.
