Australia: Toyota Land Cruiser 70 bookings paused indefinitely

The company is yet to announce when bookings for the 70 Series will resume.

Toyota has temporarily stopped accepting bookings for the Land Cruiser 70 Series in Australia.

According to media reports, Toyota Australia is unable to meet the growing demand, resulting in long waiting times. Reports suggest that waiting times at a few dealerships extend beyond four years. The company is yet to announce when bookings for the 70 Series will resume, although the popularity of the SUV among customers in Australia remains at a historical high.

Sean Hanley, VP of Sales, Marketing & Franchise Operations at Toyota Australia, confirmed the pause in bookings. He stated that the global supply challenges faced are affecting the time taken to fulfil orders more quickly. He also added that customers with existing orders would be contacted directly by dealerships over the coming months regarding the wait times.

The Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series comes powered by a 4.5-litre V8 diesel engine. It produces 202 BHP and 430 Nm and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission, sending power to all four wheels.
