Auto Expo 2023: Honda XRE 300 flex-fuel bike showcased

The Honda XRE 300 was showcased alongside other 2-wheelers at the Ethanol stall.

Honda decided to skip the Auto Expo this year. However, there was one Honda bike that caught everyone’s attention – a flex-fuel-powered XRE 300.

The Honda XRE 300 is a dual-purpose bike powered by a 291cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that can run on petrol as well as ethanol. The engine develops 25 BHP @ 7,500 rpm and 27.6 Nm @ 6,000 rpm. But, When fed with ethanol, the output increases to 25.2 BHP and 28 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. 

The Honda XRE 300 was showcased alongside other 2-wheelers at the Ethanol stall. The bike is equipped with an LED headlight with a beak below it, wide handlebars, a stepped seat and an upswept exhaust.

The XRE 300 is equipped with telescopic fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It rides on wire-spoke wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres and gets disc brakes at both ends.
