Bajaj CS400 to be called the Pulsar VS400; specs leaked

The production model based on the Bajaj CS400 will be named the Pulsar VS400. This information has been revealed by a recent set of images that are claimed to be of the VS400's brochure. The CS400 was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo, and the production bike is expected to be launched during this year's festive season.

The bike seen in the images wears a Pulsar brand plate on the fuel tank, while a VS400 badge can be seen on the panel below the pillion seat. Additionally, an image of a document bearing ARAI header has also surfaced. This document reveals the specs of the Bajaj Pulsar VS400.

According to the table shown in the document, the Bajaj VS400 is powered by a 373.27 cc engine that develops 34.5 BHP @ 8,000 rpm. This means that the Bajaj VS400 will develop a lower power output as compared to the KTM Duke 390, despite using similar engines. The Duke 390 generates 43 BHP.

The document also reveals that the Bajaj Pulsar VS400 has a gross weight of 332 kg. Gross Weight includes the bike's kerb weight, weight of fuel, oil, rider as well as pillion.
