Last month, Bajaj Auto launched the world's first CNG motorcycle, the Freedom 125. The bike is priced at Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom), but it seems Bajaj is working on a more affordable variant.
The latest spy images indicate that a new entry-level variant of the Freedom 125 CNG could be in the works. The test mule features several modifications aimed at reducing costs.
The test bike has a more conventional-looking front fork with rubber gaiters. The design of the headlamp bracket and fender also looks simpler than that of the current variant. The bike could also get a more basic instrument console and a halogen headlamp instead of an LED unit.
The new variant should be mechanically identical to the existing Freedom 125 CNG. The bike will be powered by a 125cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 9.4 BHP and 9.7 Nm. It will be equipped with a 2 kg CNG cylinder and a 2-litre petrol tank.
