Bajaj trademarks 'Freerider' name

The new model is likely to be based on the Husqvarna E-Pilen.

Bajaj Auto has filed a trademark application for the 'Freerider' name. This has led to speculations that this could be the name given to the company's upcoming electric motorcycle.

Bajaj is said to expand its electric 2-wheeler line-up and the new model is likely to be based on the Husqvarna E-Pilen. It is expected to be mechanically identical and could share the same powertrain.

Speaking of the powertrain, the Husqvarna E-Pilen uses an 8 kW electric motor that is powered by a swappable battery pack. It is said to have a maximum range of 100 km on a single charge.

Earlier, Bajaj had also filed trademark applications for 'Fluir' and 'Fluor' names.
