MG Motor India could be planning to launch a smaller SUV that could be positioned below the upcoming Hector. The latest spy images suggest that the carmaker could be evaluating the Baojun 510 for India.

The Baojun 510 measures 4,220 mm in length, 1,740 mm in width and 1,615 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,550 mm and it comes equipped with a 45-litre fuel tank.

The Baojun 510 has a large hexagonal grille with chrome trim around the lower edge. The grille is flanked by triangular LED DRLs, while the main headlights and fog lamps are placed in separated pods. The SUV has squared-off wheel arches with plastic trim around the door sills. It has a dual-tone front and rear bumpers with silver inserts and wraparound tail lights. The SUV also gets roof rails, a shark fin antenna and dual-tone alloy wheels.

In the international market, the Baojun 510 is offered with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 110 BHP @ 5,800 rpm and 146.5 Nm of torque @ 3,600-4,000 rpm. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.

While there is no official word regarding the Baojun 510 coming to India, if launched, it could compete with the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and the likes.
