Bentley Bentayga Diesel revealed

The Bentley Bentayga SUV has just received a diesel model in its lineup. It is the first diesel model ever produced by the British automaker.

The Bentayga diesel is powered by a 4.0-litre, V8 engine, that churns out 429 BHP and 900 Nm of torque. This engine has been jointly developed by Bentley and Audi, and is coupled to two turbochargers and an electrically driven supercharger. This triple-charging setup was also seen earlier on the Audi SQ7. The aforementioned power output figures are capable of propelling the Bentayga from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, before hitting its top speed of 270 km/h. Interestingly, the Bentayga diesel also boasts of the lowest CO2 emissions of any Bentley produced till date.

In its petrol iteration, the Bentayga is powered by a 5950cc W12 engine that produces 600 BHP and 900 Nm of torque. It boasts of a 0-100 km/h time of 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 301 km/h.

Bentley has also added some subtle cosmetic changes on the diesel model, including the V8 Diesel badge on the front door, new 'twin-quad' exhaust tailpipes, and a black matrix grille.

Features on offer with the Bentayga diesel include multi-mode air suspension, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), multi-mode Traction Control (TCS), Hill Descent Control, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Park Assist, 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with navigation, 60GB hard drive, and Electronic Night Vision.

The Bentley Bentagya diesel will first go on sale in Europe, with deliveries starting from early 2017. Other countries like Russia, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan will also be getting the diesel SUV over the next year.
