Bentley Bentayga V8 launched at Rs. 3.78 crore

Bentley has launched the Bentayga with a V8 petrol engine in India. The luxury SUV is priced at Rs. 3.78 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

The Bentley Bentayga is based on the VW Group's MLB platform. It measures 5,140 mm in overall length, 2,224 mm in width and 1,742 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,995 mm and weighs 2,395 kg. Fuel tank capacity is 85 litres.

The styling of the Bentayga V8 is similar to the W12 version. It has a diamond mesh grille finished in gloss black and circular LED headlamps and turn signals. The front bumper has a wide air dam and an integrated skid plate. A total of 11-wheel designs are on offer including 22-inch five-spoke wheels with a black painted and polished finish. At the rear, the Bentayga has a raked windshield and a roof spoiler. It gets rectangular tail lights and quad exhausts.

The Bentayga is offered in 4, 5 or 7-seat configurations. The interior is finished in quilted leather with carbon fiber or wood trim. It comes with a 3-spoke multi-functional leather steering wheel with wood inserts. The centre console houses an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 60 GB hard drive. Rear seat passengers get a 10.2-inch Android tablet with 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Customers can choose from a range of audio systems including a 1,950 watt, 18-speaker system. Other features include head-up display, infra-red camera and Park Assist with autonomous steering.

Powering the Bentayga V8 is a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine that develops 542 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 770 Nm of torque @ 1,960-4,500 rpm. The engine is paired to a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive. There are 4 driving modes for different kinds of off-road surfaces. These include Snow & Grass, Dirt & Gravel, Mud & Trail and Sand Dunes. Bentley claims, it will do 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 290 km/h. While, air-suspension is standard, carbon ceramic brakes are offered as an option.
