Big win for BHPian: Private employees can get BH series in Karnataka

As per the new rules, vehicles with regular state-specific registrations can also switch to BH series registrations.

The Karnataka High Court has ordered the state government to permit private employees to apply for Bharat (BH) series registrations. 

The state of Karnataka started issuing BH series registration plates for new vehicles in December last year. However, unlike other states, the facility was not available for private employees.

BHPian SILVERWOOD had filed a writ petition challenging the state government’s decision. The petition was recently allowed by the Karnataka High Court, paving the way for private employees to apply for BH series registrations.

While full details of the High Court’s order are still awaited, this marks the end of a year-long legal battle.
