BMW 7-Series facelift partially leaked

The BMW 7-Series is due for a mid-cycle refresh later this year. The first image of the car has leaked online. The leaked image reveals the car's updated front end.

The spy image indicates that the new 7-Series is likely to borrow styling cues from the X7 SUV. It has a much larger twin kidney grille with a chrome frame, which is flanked by slim twin-pod LED headlamps. The front bumper has been redesigned as well. It features a chrome strip along the lower edge of the air dam and on the sides. The car pictured here is riding on multi-spoke alloy wheels. A few updates to the interior are also expected.

Under the bonnet, the new model is likely to use the same range of engines as the outgoing 7-Series. In India, the car is offered with two engine options - 730Ld with a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder engine that makes 261 BHP and 620 Nm of torque and 740Li which comes with a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder engine that puts out 322 BHP and 450 Nm of peak torque. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. In the international market, BMW will reportedly offer a new 745e iPerformance plug-in hybrid version. It will replace the 740e iPerformance.
