BMW Motorrad India has shared a teaser of its upcoming electric scooter, the CE 02, on social media. It is expected to be launched this festive season.
The BMW CE 02 has been designed and developed in collaboration with TVS. The electric scooter is being manufactured at TVS’ Hosur plant.
The CE 02 has a minimalistic design featuring an LED headlamp, a single-piece flat seat, and a 3.5-inch TFT instrument console. The scooter is equipped with a USD fork at the front and monoshock at the rear. It rides on 14-inch wheels, while stopping power is provided by disc brakes.
The BMW CE 02 is powered by a pair of 2 kWh lithium-ion batteries paired with a 15 BHP electric motor. The e-scooter has a top speed of 95 km/h and can travel up to 90 km on a single charge. BMW also offers a single battery version with a top speed of 45 km/h and a range of 45 km.
Both versions can be charged using either a 0.9 kW standard charger, which takes 5 hours and 12 minutes to charge both batteries from 0 - 100%. The BMW CE 02 is also compatible with a 1.5 kW fast charger, bringing down charging time to 3 hours 30 minutes.
