BMW iX electric SUV to be launched on December 11

The BMW iX will compete with the Mercedes-Benz EQC, Audi e-tron and the Jaguar I-Pace.

BMW is all set to foray into the premium electric SUV segment in India with the iX. It will be launched on December 11, 2021.

The iX is based on an all-new aluminium spaceframe and is about the same size as the BMW X5. The car is powered by BMW's fifth-generation all-electric platform, which comprises of two electric motors.

In the international market, the BMW iX comes in two variants - xDrive 40 and xDrive 50. The former comes with a 71 kWh battery pack that offers a maximum range of 414 km on a single charge (WLTP cycle). The dual motors have an output of 322 BHP and 630 Nm.

The xDrive 50 variant uses a 105.2 kWh battery pack offering a maximum range of 611 km. This variant packs 516 BHP and 765 Nm and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.

The BMW iX will compete with the Mercedes-Benz EQC, Audi e-tron and the Jaguar I-Pace.
