BMW to launch M3, M4 in India on November 26

Last month, a BMW M3 sedan and M4 coupe were spotted in Chennai by BHPian BraveArc, which led to speculation that the German luxury carmaker could be gearing up to introduce the two models in India soon. Now BMW has announced that it will launch the M3 and M4 in India on November 26, 2014.

The M3 and M4 are powered by a 2979 cc, inline 6-cylinder, twin-turbocharged petrol engine producing 425 bhp @ 5500-7300 rpm and 550 Nm @ 1850-5500 rpm. With a 6-speed manual gearbox, the cars can do a 0-100 kph sprint in 4.3 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 kph. A 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission is expected to be available as well. The M3 and M4 will be the first M cars to use an electric power steering.

Earlier this year, BMW had announced that 2014 will be the year of the M models in India. With the M6 Gran Coupe already launched, the M3 and M4 coming this month and the M5 expected to follow, the company is looking well set to expand its range M cars in the country.
