BMW M4 Competition Convertible unveiled

The 3.0-litre, twin-turbo, 6-cylinder engine puts out 496 BHP and 649 Nm.

BMW has taken the wraps off the M4 Competition Convertible.

The styling of the M4 Competition Convertible is identical to the coupe. It gets the same polarising front end with the large kidney grille. This time around, instead of a folding hardtop, the car comes with a fabric roof which is said to weigh 40% less. The roof can be retracted in 18 seconds at speed of up to 50 km/h.

The M4 Competition Convertible is powered by a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo, 6-cylinder engine that puts out 496 BHP and 649 Nm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. BMW claims that the car will do 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 280 km/h.

Just like the coupe, the M4 Competition Convertible comes with an Active M electronic limited-slip differential, Adaptive M suspension and M Compound brakes, while Carbon ceramic brakes are optional.
