BMW R 1250 RT and K 1600 touring range launched

The top-spec BMW K 1600 Grand America is priced at Rs. 33 lakh.

BMW Motorrad has launched its touring range in India, starting with the R 1250 RT priced at Rs. 23.95 lakh to the K 1600 Grand America, which costs Rs. 33 lakh (ex-showroom).

The latest iteration of the BMW R 1250 RT comes with a redesigned fairing with full LED headlamps. It uses the 2-cylinder boxer engine that powers the R 1250 GS. The unit produces 134 BHP @ 7,750 rpm and 143 Nm @ 6,250 rpm. BMW claims that the bike can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 200 km/h.

The K 1600 series is available in three variants. The first is the K 1600 B, which is a Bagger-style tourer and is said to offer a relaxed cruising experience. The other two variants are the K 1600 GTL and K 1600 Grand America.

The K 1600 range is powered by an inline 6-cylinder engine that develops 158 BHP @ 6,750 rpm and 180 Nm @ 5,250 rpm. The bikes are equipped with dynamic engine brake control and Dynamic ESA. They come with a 10.25-inch TFT colour display with navigation and connectivity features.
