BMW X3 with 255 bhp coming to India

German luxury carmaker BMW, is gearing up to introduce a more powerful diesel engine for its X3 SUV in India. This engine is a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder "30d" unit, which is capable of putting out 255 bhp and 560 Nm of torque. This is the same engine that was found in the pre-facelift version of the X3. It is also seen in various other BMW models that are sold in India.

The X3 30d will come with an M Sport kit. It will include M badges on the exterior as well as the interior, restyled alloy wheels and an aggressive front bumper with larger air intakes. Additionally, the car will get an eight-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.

The X3 30d is expected to be launched in mid-2015. It will be assembled at BMW's facility in Chennai.
