BMW has quietly launched the X3 xDrive20d M Sport at Rs. 54 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It is the only other variant of the X3 currently on sale apart from the Expedition trim. It comes in four exterior colour options - Melbourne Red, Space Grey, Carbon Black and Alpine White.

The X3 xDrive20d M Sport is positioned above the Expedition trim and comes with added features. The X3 gets the M aerodynamics package, 18-inch alloy wheels, M doorsills and M Sport badges on the front fenders.

Inside, the SUV gets an M Sport steering wheel, front and rear sports seats with Nevada Beige or Mocha leather upholstery and a headliner finished in anthracite. A storage compartment package is offered as standard. Further, it comes with features like an 8.7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen as opposed to the 6.4-inch, non-touch display offered on the Expedition trim. The infotainment system has 20 GB of internal storage and is paired with a 205-watt, 9-speaker audio system. Navigation system Professional with 3D maps is available as standard.

In the M Sport trim, the X3 comes with the same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine as the Expedition version. The engine produces 188 BHP @ 4,000 rpm with a peak torque of 400 Nm @ 1,750-2,500 rpm and sends the power to all wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. It comes with 4 driving modes - ECOPRO, Comfort, Sport and Sport+.

Other standard features include Dynamic Damper Control, dynamic braking for individual wheels, ABS with Brake Assist, airbags, active front seat headrests, cornering brake control, dynamic stability control (DSC), traction control, crash sensor with dynamic braking lights, ISOFIX child seat mounting and run flat tyres.
