Brought home a Tata Nexon EV Prime: Initial impressions post 1000 kms

Battling range anxiety on some days but other than that, a pretty smooth experience! With a full load of passengers and a fully filled boot, we got a decent range of around 220 kms.

BHPian aveoman19 recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

My brother got a Nexon EV Prime XM+ (Base model in the Nexon EV range). He got it in Signature Teal Blue Colour. HYSON TATA, Thrissur is the dealership from where he bought the car. The salesperson was very friendly and the delivery experience was very smooth. Getting used to this whole charging infrastructure fiasco as KSEB outlets are mostly crowded. Battling range anxiety on some days but other than that, a pretty smooth experience! With a full load of passengers (5 healthy individuals) and a fully filled boot, we got a decent range of around 220 Kms (AC on always and Regen at the max level). Couldn't use cruise control on many occasions as some or the other gentleman will pop out of no where on narrow Kerala highways. Did three reasonably large trips namely (1) Thrissur to Kochi/Nedumbassery International Airport and back; (2) Thrissur to Kozhikode and back; (3) Thrissur to Thamarassery ghats and back. The vehicle was very stable through the corners and the instant torque, especially in S drive mode is very addictive (at the cost of range of course). Had a close call with a Tata Ace in Kochi city at 50 Kmph, luckily was able to escape with no fender bender incident. All I did was lift off the accelerator pedal at Max Regen and made a controlled yet quick evasive manoeuvre. Certainly a heart in mouth moment but the Nexon EV handled it like a charm!

Accessories added at the dealership level are rear parcel tray, floor mats, carpets, 3M Teflon coating with 2 re-coats (one in 6 months time and another at the end of the year), wind/rain deflectors on all 4 doors and removable netted sun blinds. Will be adding factory alloys from the dealership next year to spruce up the ownership experience while changing the tyres as we don't think the LRR tyres will last an year especially since we keep using the Sport Mode every now and then.

Overall a good ownership experience (touch wood). We covered more than 1000 Kms in a week of owning the car. Hoping to see many more 100 thousand kms on this beauty.
