BS-VI compliant 2019 TVS Apache 160 spied

An undisguised image of the 2019 TVS Apache 160 has surfaced online. According to the spy image, the bike is likely to receive minor cosmetic updates.

The new Apache 160 is likely to get a redesigned fairing featuring a new headlamp cluster and inverted V-shaped white strips instead of LED daytime running lights. The instrument cluster and turn-indicators appear to be mounted directly to the dual-tone fairing.

TVS is also expected to offer an upgraded 159.7cc engine in the new Apache that complies with BS-VI emission norms. At present, this single-cylinder, oil-cooled unit produces 14.9 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 13.03 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

Besides the engine and minor cosmetic changes, the new Apache is not expected to get any other updates. It is likely to be offered with disc brakes at both ends. The lower variant is expected to get drum brakes at the rear. It is also likely to get single-channel ABS.
