BYD Atto 2 confirmed; European debut in 2025

The Atto 2 will have a more boxier and upright styling, compared to the Atto 3.

According to reports, BYD has confirmed that it will introduce the Atto 2 electric SUV in Europe sometime in January 2025. The BYD Atto 2, as the name suggests will be positioned below the Atto 3, which is also sold in the Indian market.

The confirmation came via a press release from Green NCAP - an extension of Euro NCAP, which tests the safety ratings of electric vehicles. The safety organisation stated that the BYD Atto 2 "hits the European market in January". The Atto 2 for the European market will initially be produced in China, before expanding to the brand's latest facility in Hungary.

Reports suggest that at least one variant of the Atto 2 will be powered by a 42.4 kWh battery pack, with a 312 km driving range, as per the European WTLP cycle.

The BYD Atto 2 will reportedly measure 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width and 1,675 mm in height. It will tip the scales at 1,590 kg. In comparison, the Atto 3 measures 4,455 mm in length and weighs 1,750 kg.

In terms of design, reports state that the Atto 2 will have a more boxier and upright styling. It is said to feature a more conventional 12.8-inch infotainment display and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, heated & power-adjustable front seats and leather upholstery.

Prices for the new Atto 2 are yet to be revealed.
