BYD Atto 3 unveiled in India; bookings open

The Atto 3 will be launched in November and the first 500 units will be delivered in January 2023.

BYD has unveiled the Atto 3 electric SUV in India. It will be officially launched in November 2022, however, bookings have already opened.

Customers can book the Atto 3 by paying a token amount of Rs. 50,000. The carmaker plans to deliver the first 500 units in January next year.

The Atto 3 is designed along the lines of BYD’s ‘Dragon Face 3.0’ philosophy. It features a blanked-out chrome grille with LED headlamps at the front and wraparound LED tail lights with a light bar at the back. The SUV rides on 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the Atto 3 comes equipped with a rotating 12.8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and a digital instrument cluster. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, powered front seats and a one-touch electric tailgate. The SUV also gets ADAS along with 7 airbags, ABS, ESP, hill-hold assist, and a 360-degree camera.

In India, the BYD Atto 3 is available with a 60.48 kWh battery pack that offers a range of 521 km (ARAI). It powers an electric motor mounted on the front axle. It makes 201 BHP and 310 Nm. BYD claims the Atto 3 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.

The Atto 3 uses BYD’s blade battery, which can also be used to run large appliances. The vehicle-to-load function has an output of up to 3.3 kW.

BYD will offer an 8-year / 1.6 lakh km warranty on the battery and an 8-year / 1.5 lakh km warranty on the motor and motor assembly. Besides this, the company offers a 6-year / 1.5 lakh km warranty on DC high-voltage components.
