BYD Bao 3 SUV and Bao 9 sportscar patented in India

BYD will be showcasing its products at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025.

China’s BYD has filed design patents for two new products in India. As per the government’s patents, design, and trademarks database, BYD has patented the Bao 3 and Bao 9.

The BYD Bao 3 is an electric SUV with a rugged design based on the Super 3 concept. It features an upright front fascia with LED headlights, chunky wheel arches, and retractable door handles.

The Bao 3 measures over 4.6 meters long and weighs over 2 tonnes. It is powered by dual electric motors – one on each axle, with a combined output of 444 BHP. The SUV can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 201 km/h. It uses BYD’s Blade batteries.

The Bao 9 is an open-top pure-electric speedster. The 2-seater is based on the Super 9 electric concept and features a dual-cockpit design with carbon fibre seats and a flat-bottom racing-style steering wheel.

BYD will be showcasing its products at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025. It's unclear if the Bao 3 and Bao 9 will also be presented at the event.
