BYD Sealion 7 electric SUV launched at Rs 48.90 lakh

The Sealion 7 is the fifth model launched by BYD in India.

Chinese EV maker BYD has launched the Sealion 7 in India. The electric SUV is available in two trims: Premium and Performance, priced at Rs 48.90 lakh and Rs 54.90 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. Deliveries will begin in mid-March 2025.

The Sealion 7 is the fifth model launched by BYD in India. It was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year. The carmaker has received over 1,000 bookings within a month. 

The Sealion 7 has the signature BYD front fascia, featuring sweptback LED headlamps with LED DRLs and flared wheel arches with black cladding. In the rear, the EV features wraparound LED taillights connected by an LED light bar, a roof spoiler, and a two-tone rear bumper.

On the inside, the Sealion 7 comes with a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen and a flat-bottom steering wheel with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The SUV also gets features like electrically adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation, 2-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker audio system, a head-up display, and ADAS.

The Premium variant packs 308 BHP and 380 Nm and can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The Performance variant has 523 BHP and 690 Nm. It can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.5 seconds. Both variants are powered by an 82.56 kWh LFP battery, offering a range of 567 km and 542 km, respectively.

In India, the Sealion 7 will be offered with a complimentary 7 kW charger. BYD also offers 6-year roadside assistance and a 6-year / 1,50,000 km battery warranty.
