Chevrolet Camaro production ends; Unveils Collector's Edition

Chevrolet will build only 350 examples of the Collector's Edition for the North American market.

Chevrolet will soon be ending the production of its iconic Camaro. The American muscle car, currently in its sixth-generation iteration has been in development since the 1960s. The original Camaro was internally codenamed 'Panther'.

To commemorate the end of production, Chevrolet has revealed the final 'Collector's Edition' version. The special limited-edition models will get a bunch of exclusive elements. This includes a front splitter, colour-matched rear spoiler, red brake calipers, black lug nuts and ZL1's racing stripes. The Collector's Edition will also be offered in special colour schemes: Panther Black Metallic for SS and Panther Matte Black for ZL1. Other details on the interior include a serialised steering wheel badge, special floor mats and a picture of a panther.

Customers of the Chevrolet Camaro Collector's Edition will also get a welcome kit, which includes posters showing the muscle car across generations. ZL1 customers will also receive a Shinola Canfield Sport watch, with the serial number of the vehicle inscribed.

Chevrolet will build only 350 examples of the Collector's Edition for the North American market. Powering the final editions will be either the 3.6-litre V6, the standard 6.2-litre V8 or the supercharged 6.2-litre V8, depending on the spec.
