Citroen C5 Aircross scores 4 stars in Euro NCAP crash tests

The India-bound Citroen C5 Aircross has received a 4-star safety rating in crash tests conducted by Euro NCAP. 

The C5 Aircross scored 33.4 points for adult occupant safety, which translates to 87%. In the frontal offset crash test, the car offered good protection to the head, chest and upper leg of the front passenger. It offered good protection to the head, upper leg and feet of the driver and adequate protection to the chest and lower leg. 

In the frontal full width test, protection to the head, chest and upper leg of the front passenger was found to be marginal, adequate and good respectively, while the driver's head and upper leg was found to be well protected. The car offered good protection in lateral impact tests. Whiplash protection during a rear impact was also found to be good. The passenger compartment remained stable in the frontal offset test.

The C5 Aircross scored 42.6 points (86%) for child occupant safety and 27.9 points (58%) for pedestrian safety. In Europe, the car is equipped with autonomous emergency braking (AEB), which performed well in low speed tests.
