Datsun cars will be sold directly through Nissan in India

Datsun has announced that it will be directly selling its vehicles through Nissan Motor India.

Vincent Cobee, Global Head of Datsun, said: “Selling the Datsun GO and future Datsun models through Nissan Motor represents a natural evolution of the company’s operations in India, which are well recognized in the market. We are excited about launching the iconic Datsun brand in India and look forward to bringing a growing range of bespoke, locally-produced products and high level services to our customers."

A part of the Nissan Group of India, Datsun hopes to make use of Nissan's established dealer network to gain a foothold in the Indian market, which is currently dominated by players like Maruti and Hyundai.

Based on the Nissan Micra, the Go, which will be Datsun’s first product for India, is just months away from its launch. Datsun has indicated that there will be many more models following the Go into India.
