Delhi: Odd-Even scheme from November 4-15, 2019

The Delhi government will implement the odd-even scheme to curb rising pollution from November 4-15, 2019.

As part of the scheme, based on the last digit of the vehicle's registration number, odd and even numbered vehicles will be allowed to ply on the streets of the national capital on alternate days. This rule is likely to apply to private vehicles, including out-of-state vehicles. Public vehicles could be exempted. The odd-even rule was first implemented in Delhi in 2016.

According to media reports, the government has identified 12 locations in Delhi where pollution levels are high and will be taking measures to reduce pollution.

The government is also likely to appoint two environment marshals in all wards to discourage people from burning garbage during winter.
