This event was organized and sponsored by the local BMW dealership, and we had the privilege of being among the first set of cars to hit the track.
The layout is short, tight, and very technical—definitely more suited to smaller, more agile vehicles—but it was still great fun exploring the limits of our cars in a controlled environment. The event was well-organized, and it was a pleasure catching up with fellow enthusiasts. The turnout for the autocross event that followed was impressive, with a wide variety of cars on display.
Kudos to the organizers for putting together such a solid event. Looking forward to more such opportunities.
Sharing some pics,
Been over 4 years now but what a car! Always puts a smile on my face
A wide perspective of the track
The new M5 was on display along with the LCI M2 and an XM
A larger turnout of over 100 cars across categories
Few of the BMW’s lined up
Did just one timed lap along with another friend in the car. Didn’t push much as there was no run off area and the track is still a work in progress. Did manage to get a respectable time of 1:30
Update on my Polo GTI: The car is now sold. Had a fantastic time with it for over 7 years and 70,000kms. Not really sure if I will get any replacement but the itch will always be there for us car guys. Maybe I should bookmark the “What car, What salary” thread and keep reading it for demotivation.
A parting shot from my basement parking
